Welshponnier och Cobs i Sverige och deras användning i Ridponnyavel. De utgör en stor del av Brittisk ridponnyavel, och det är därför av yttersta vikt att Welshrasen i Sverige till punkt och pricka följer WP&CS regler, då detta påverkar BRP-registret. Inte nog med att Svenska Welshföreningens register måste vara likadant som WP&CS register, men ännu viktigare måste föreningens regler för införande i stamboken vara exakt likadana som huvudföreningens. Det är sättet föreningen sköts som bestämmer införsel i stamboken. WPCS har INTE gradering så från ett BRP perspektiv uppmanar vi SWF att till fullo följa huvudföreningens regler.
Ingen av de Brittiska inhemska raserna har någon form av avelsvärdering, vare sig frivillig eller något kallat gradering. Rasen håller öppna blodlinjer och tävlar i utställningsringen och måste skyddas genom att helt följa huvudföreningens regler. Gradering är för sporthästar och sportponnier av bevisad prestationsförmåga och som kan förbättra våra sportkapacitet internationellt.
Svenska Welshföreningen har tagit en modig ståndpunkt genom att vara självständiga mot SH, och vi hoppas innerligen att dom inte kommer att ta stigen mot gradering. WPCS har dock Stallion Ratings. Detta är för avkommor och inte hingstar. Det finns 10/12 utnämnda utställningar där avkommor får poänger för placeringar. Den hingst vars avkomma har högsta antal poäng blir Tops of the Ratings denna säsong.
